Outside Time

by Old Future Crash

about

OFC was born in 2006 following an idea preconceived some years before, influenced in
the way they do and understand the music by the great bands of the '70s, with music that
had no boundaries when it came to creating elaborate productions together with wonderful
melodies. Mauri Martinez and Pedro Lopez first met in Valencia in 1997, many were and
still are their musical idols but they mainly coincide with their love for Jeff Lynne’s band,
the Electric Light Orchestra.
Mauri Martinez had already taken his first steps as a musician, composer and producer in
SerHpoL with Luis Perdiguer and The Moles with Kike Benavent apart from his solo
records among which the original "Seven Notes" from 1999 stands out, on which Pedro
Lopez appears as a collaborator (possibly they were laying the foundation of what would
become the new musical project called Old Future Crash).
Meanwhile Pedro Lopez was involved in several projects as a musician, producer and
vocalist, always making clear his passion for synthesizers (DeLuxe, Eurosónica, Technika,
Traveling Hearts and together with Kike Benavent on several songs).
Thus we come to the end of 2006, when they met Nancy Betancourt and thus begins OFC
shape, so much so that in December a first version of the song "Sorry" appears on the
web ELO Spain and Nancy wrote the lyrics, and she would write the lyrics for the band
thereafter.
The reviews and the reception were so good that Mauri and Pedro decided to continue to
compose and months later they recorded "This Is Heaven", the first version of the song
that dates back to 2001 and they had saved for the occasion.
Months later the first version of "I'll Never Stop" appears, becoming since that time the
main number of the band, which even reaches the ears of the Valencian label "Turia
Records" and their bosses Vicente Ribas and Jose Galvez’s who propose a project to
record an EP on 7 ", which they accepted. In September 2008 the vinyl record appears on
the market with new versions of "This Is Heaven", " Sorry "and" I'll Never Stop "and as a
novelty, it has the support of Arturo Aguilera on electric guitar.
The EP became very popular, being played on several radio stations and they were
interviewed by a few media where there was always the same question ... when will you
release the album? ...
In fact, at that point OFC had already chosen the songs that would form the album, but
they needed time to perform and of course, be surrounded by many of the best musicians
in Valencia. Together with the aforementioned Arturo Esteban Aguilera, also collaborated
Pepe and Carlos Fernandez on bass, Leon and Francis Guille Palacios on the electric
guitar, on the violin Paula Aguilera, Marian Lopez with her sweet voice and Roque
Esteban with his wonderful voice on choirs and vocal harmonies.
OFC have always been "out of time", a phrase that Mauri and Pedro have taken to the
extreme in their lives, a phrase that has surely marked them in music, and a phrase that
will always be remembered by them with this album, album that is based primarily on the
passion that every one of those who made it possible have for music.
The time has come and Old Future Crash are counting the seconds again ... At this point,
only one thing is expected, that you will also be "OUTSIDE TIME"
